GSLC's Family Ministry Team has been given the challenge of
developing and overseeing ministry to children, youth and parents at both of our worship locations, GSLC-South and GSLC-Northwood. The purpose
of Family Ministry is to develop ministry strategies that will enhance the
spiritual growth and relational development of our children, congregational
marriages and families. We have two Ministry
Teams: (1) Children & Family Ministry, and (2) Youth & Family Ministry.
The purposes and philosophy of both Ministry Teams
remains the same: "To provide ministries and resources for enhancing
family life and development. We desire to teach families how to do family
ministry on their own. We have made a commitment to intentionally equip families
to grow in spiritual, relational and emotional health."
The goal of
both Ministry Teams is to facilitate ministry that produces God-centered,
Spirit-filled, supportive, peaceful families that are change agents of God's
growing love in our families, our church and our community.
Our Purpose in Children's Ministry Is to Lead
Children:
To know the love of Jesus To grow to be
like Jesus To show the love of Jesus

Trunk-or-Treat with a Twist
October 25 at 6:00pm - If you liked Power Lab, you will love Slime Time!
All families are invited to come to church, open their car trunks, decorate them, and offer treats to the children up to third grade, as they "trunk or treat." Our 4th through 6th graders will be serving as helpers for this event. Kids and adults may wear non-scary costumes. We will have a cake walk, crafts, snacks, games, and picture taking opportunities. This is an awesome time to invite the neighborhood kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews, etc. to the church with you. Sign up on the information table and join the fun!
Got Kids?
November 2, January 25, and March 1
What is Got Kids?
Got Kids? is a group of parents with children aged 0-12 years old. We meet four times a year for a motivating speaker, dinner, and fellowship. It is a great way to get to know other parents at the church and a terrific place to invite your friends! Children also participate in their own program made just for their ages.
What is new and improved this year?
We read the evaluations, and we heard you! We are all busy and have so many things in life, so we cut the sessions in half and there is no need to register! Simply sign up on the church patio up to three weeks before each night and you are all set.
What should I know?
- Bring a sack dinner for children
- We will be meeting three more sundays evenings from 5-7:30 pm through the 2008-2009 year: November 2, January 25, and March 1
- There is a suggested donation of $10 per family per evening and a $5 donation per adult for dinner
- For more information conact Francheska Anderson at (949) 651-5062 or
, Lisa Keimach, or Judi Hoefs in the church office. Sign up on the patio.
Children's Choir is on the GROW!
Our group is growing, so we will be dividing into two separate rehearsal groups - with our great snack break happening between the two rehearsals. Our older group, grades 5-8, will meet in the sanctuary first from 5:45 - 6:25pm, and then break for snack. (Afterward, grades 7 and 8 can then go off to FOCUS group.) Our younger group, grades K - 4, will first come and assemble at snack, from 6:25-6:40 pm, then rehearse in the sanctuary from 6:40 - 7:10 pm. Both groups will cover music fundamentals, singing techniques, enjoy performances together as well as our great social events! Come join us - we have a lot of fun! P.S. Rehearsals for our December musical have already begun! For more information, contact Kat Giesler at (562) 833 - 1407 or
