On Sunday, September 27, 32 members and friends of Good Shepherd got up in the dark and drove in the fog to Fashion Island to participate in the 18th annual Orange County Race for the Cure.  The 5k walk is a massive fund raiser for breast cancer detection and cure. 

There were 24,000 participants in this year’s event and over $2.5 million dollars was raised.

Faith in Action Vision Grows

This fall, on November 15th 2009 will be our 3rd annual Faith-in-Action Sunday where we have one worship service at both our sites at 9:30am and then all go out to serve on behalf of our community and world. Faith-in-Action is in response to our outreach strategic plan to develop Outreach opportunities where people can get their hands dirty and be the hands and feet of Jesus to a world in need. Too often the church can just send a check (which is also important, don’t get me wrong) and then consider a project done. Through hands on projects our hearts begin to change.
