Healing Prayer Sunday Mornings

In Matthew 11:28 Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden."

Every fifth Sunday of the month we have prayers for healing at our services.

As your pastors we recognize the importance of offering prayers for healing when we are with you individually. But we know there are so many more people who are in need of healing in their own life, or who have a friend or family member who is in need of prayers for healing.

During our healing prayer service you will be invited to come forward for prayer, or to sit in your pew and pray while others come forward. No pressure, just an open opportunity. A prayer team made up of Pastors and lay people will be up at the communion rail to say a short, private prayer with you. Music will be played during this time to allow for private prayer.

You will be invited to come forward and kneel at the communion rail and receive a laying on of hands and a prayer in the name of Christ.  Perhaps you have been ill in some way and have a need for physical healing. Perhaps you are feeling anxious or depressed and have a need for mental healing. Perhaps some temptation is hard to cope with and you are conscious of the need for spiritual healing. Or, if you wish, you may come forward just as an act of commitment, a prayer for spiritual deepening, a symbol of your availability to our Lord. Or perhaps you want to come forward as an act of prayer for someone else, whom you know to be in need of healing. Or perhaps you want to come forward simply because the touch of Christ is desirable for its own sake, quite apart from any by-products it may bring. Whatever your reasons for coming forward, you are welcome.  You may come up as an individual, as a couple, or even as a family.

In the bulletin will be a prayer card that you can fill out and bring forward with you so the prayer team will know how to pray for you or your loved one.
